My summer playlist

NOTE-  This will be the last blog post up until I get back from holiday. I don't think I will be able to upload while there but will start posting again once I get back. Normal posts will be up again on the 30th August

So its that time of year....SUMMER! Finally, and to say the least I am pretty happy about it. I love listening to music so creating a good summer playlist (especially one for my holiday) is vital! I am the first one to admit that my music taste is not great and rather cliche but I don't care! This is some of the music that is going to be on my summer playlist.Enjoy! (please excuse the non existent technical vocab)

1. Classic- MKTO
I am obsessed with this song! I love the intro and the whole vibe to it! The singer is also brilliant and after listening to the acoustic version you appreciate how good he is at singing! I don't normally like rap but there is not much in it and the guy who raps is really good (not just swearing and talking about sex). This song has already been on repeat for me and it will certainly continue to be!

2. Am i wrong- Nico & Vinz
This song just has such a good feeling to it which I love! I love the singer

3. Budapest- George Ezra
This song is so simple but yet so effective! The simplicity of this song makes it great!

4. Ghost- Ella Henderson
I have always loved Ella Henderson but this song has made me love her more. Great feeling to it!

5. Chandelier- Sia
As I said in my intro to this blog, I love dance! So the music video to this song I loved! Although the dance style is quite odd I still do really like it. But I don't just like it because of the music video. I also really like the song! Sia has such an original voice and has always been one of my favorites!

6. Boom clap- Charli XCX
I think this song is quite original (not heared of similar things). Didn't realise it is part of The fault in our stars playlist but I really like it!! Listened to it a bit to much now though.
7. Me and my Broken Heart- Rixton
Some may say it's "cringey" but I love it! A feel good tune which makes me happy...not got much else to say...
8.  Wasted- Tiesto
This is a good song! Gets stuck in my head very easily and I love the music video to it!
9. A sky full of stars- Coldplay
Always been quite a big fan of cold play and this song has not let me down! Great singing to a great song!
10. Thinking out loud- Ed Sheeran
I am going to see Ed Sheeran in October and I can't wait!! I know every lyric to this song and I can't help but sing a long! A great song for all occasions!

Current Nail Varnish Colletion

Here is my current nail varnish collection. Like probably every other girl on this planet, I do still have my old (rather crappy) stuff but I wont include that. This is currently what I have but want to get some more! My collection is all quite dark colours and a lot of purple!
So some lighter colours are in need! Some suggestions would be really good. Enjoy!!

My collection
(In order)

No7 stay perfect nail colour- Metallic Lilac
I have used this so much that the bottle is nearly empty (that is rare for nail varnish)! It is a lovely vibrant colour which lasts for a decent amount of time before becoming chipped. But, my favourite part about this product is the brush! It is amazing! With a big lid which always makes putting nail varnish on easier. The brush is rectangular which makes it easy to apply. Definitely worth buying!

Channel Le Vernis nail colour- 217 Splendeur
My most upmarket nail varnish but my most used! To say the least I love it. It is definitely my favourite out of my little collection. Its very bright so great on the toe nails but I love having it matching on both my hand nails and toe nails. it is also has a long brush which makes it much easier to apply. Although expensive, if you get a nice colour which you like then it is definitely worth the money!

Revlon professional growth
This again is nearly empty (cry). My nails used to be very short and not strong but after using this a lot my nails are now to long! Its great just by itself but I tend to use it as a bottom coat and then top coat over normal nail varnish. Again, it has a very long brush but it is so empty that even the brush is barely reaching the varnish! Will definitely be repurchasing.

Rimmel London lasting finish nail varnish- 198 Azure
I love the colour of this and that was what initially drew me to it! The colour may be great but it is a nightmare to get of! It takes a lot of nail varnish remover and tissue. Unfortunately that is a real down side to this product as the colour is great!

Barry M Limited Edition
Unfortunately this does not seem to have a name but it is a basic sparkly clear polish. I really like this and for the price it is brilliant! I tend to use it as a top coat and just on the ring finger. This is quite an effective look and for going out it adds a bit more glitz (what more could you want?)

17 Lasting fix nail polish- Royal Indigo
This is one of the first nail polishes I ever go and it is still in great condition! I love the colour and is pretty good quality again for the price! What I love about this is you only really need one coat for the colour to stay. The only downside though is that the brush is very small so can sometimes be difficult to apply

Rimmel London 60 second nail polish- 610 Pompous
This is currently the colour I am wearing and I love it! Although similar to the last one, it has a slight sparkle to it which is great for going out and special occasions. It also has a great brush for application and it easy to remove.

Nail Supreme Matt professional nail art kit
I got these a long time ago and at the time i found them expensive, but as I have used them so much! They double up as a normal nail varnish with a brush to having a much thinner tip in which you can draw patterns and designs on your nails! I got lots of use from these from putting dots on my nails to actually drawing things on. some of them are looking a bit worse for wear now though with some of the tips falling of and some of the varnish drying up.

TRESemme Keratin Smooth review

Recently I went out and bought the Tresemme Keratin smooth shampoo, conditioner and heat protection/shine spray. This is a review on how I found the products and will hopefully help you guys out!

Shampoo
On first glance this product looks professional and good. Its slick packaging gives the impression of a good/decent product. Fortunately it does not disappoint. I love the smell of it and once used it gives your hair a fresh/natural smell instead of an artificial one. My hair does go extremely frizzy so having a decent product to help calm the frizz is important to me. I do genuinely believe that this is a good product though as my hair feels extremely fresh and clean after use.

Conditioner
I love conditioner and it really is a necessity in my life. Again this conditioner did not disappoint! My hair feels so smooth and soft after use. Again it smells great leaving your hair soft and flowing. I leave my conditioner in for a good couple of minutes which I feel makes you hair softer. The longer the better really!

Heat Protection/Shine Spray
This is brilliant! Heat is not doing anything good for my hair so when in a rush (or wanting to give my hair a break) this is a great alternative. I spray it on to my hair doing two sprays underneath my hair and two on top (can change depending on the length/thickness of your hair) but not near the scalp or the top of my head as it gives a greasy look. I put this on every morning when getting ready. It really does last the day and control my frizz! Works magic on my hair!

My all time favourite films

Here I have some old films and new films (although mostly old) that are my all time favourites! Enjoy :) (Don't worry I am cringing as well)

Hairspray
I love this film! With the wacky dancing and groovy music, it is a great sing along film! Brilliant for sleepovers with your friends and Zac Efron is looking hot! A good light hearted film.

The Help
This film is the latest film I have watched out of them all and it brought me to tears. I had previously read the book which is just as captivating and emotional as the film. Based in the 1960's it talks about the Black African maids and the hardship that they went through looking after the white family's. A brilliant film but I would recommend reading the book first.

Bridge to Terabithia
As a child, this must have been the first film to make me cry. Children's films tend to have happy endings which result in pleasing everyone. The sad ending in this film makes the film original and encaptures children's imagination. A brilliant film which is definitely worth seeing.

Billy Elliot
Before watching the film, I saw the theatre production in the West End. I must have been quite young at the time but I remember being horrified at the amount of swearing in it! Never the less I loved it and have even been a second time to see it in the West End! The film I also equally loved! With a true representation of what Britain was like at that time (due to mines being closed down) it really draws you in! And as a dancer myself, I of coursed loved the dance side of it!

High School Musical
Although as a child I was deprived of Disney channel and all the shows on Sky and Virgin that my friends were watching, I was still a massive fan of HSM! I still know all the lyrics to every song (even in films 2 +3). It's a feel good film, which I am able to watch over and over again (literally).

The Incredibles
This is a brilliant film! It is funny and I love it so much! The feel good characters and interesting story line keeps you watching! I think this was one of those films that I would watch over and over again!

Brats the movie
What can I say! Stuff mean girls and Wild Child (although I do like that). This film tops them all! I could recite to you what all the characters were about to say! That is the number of times I have watched this film! In the last half term my friend and I could not stop laughing while we reminisced on our favourite parts of the film. She wrote a small bit about it on her blog. I beg you all to watch this film, it is truly amazing!

School of Rock
Another extremely funny film! Jack Black is extremely funny in it and plays his past really well! Quite an old film now but still as funny as ever.

The Hunger Games
Again, I had read the book before the film  and although the book is better than the film, I still think it is brilliant! The graphics are amazing and the actors and actresses play the parts magnificently! If you have not seen this film you have not lived! I would recommend everyone to read the book then watch it! If you liked it you could then read the rest of the books. Catching fire and Mockingjay

My school trip to the Guardian

I am pretty sure, that I am not the only one who had previously underestimated what it takes to create a newspaper. I new it was hard and that there were factors to consider, but not as many as there are! I found this experience mind blowing and inspiring. It has certainly opened my eyes to alternative career paths. This is what we got up to...

On Tuesday 10th June, we all met at school and then at 9:00 left for the tube station. We got on the central line to Bank and then on the Northern line to Kings cross station. It was a hot day! We took a 15-20min walk and then arrived at the building! It was very modern and contemporary! Very my style!

A women picked us up from the front and brought us through the building to the Education room. Inside was very contemporary with modern furniture and finishes.
The education room was fully kitted out with Macs and laptops and everything you could need to create a newspaper (including very fast Internet). We firstly discussed and then were told what is needed to create a successful article. As I said said earlier, there is so much to conciser when writing articles and a lot of pressure! The view from the education room was truly wonderful! The weather made it even better

A Canal where Canal boats kept going up and down

At the end of the day, in our partners we had created front page newspapers with the current news that was coming in live! I extremely benefited form this experience and would recommend everyone to do it if they get the chance! Very beneficial and worthwhile!

Berlin Trip 2014- Day 5

Tuesday- Day 5

Very sadly, we woke up for the last time in Berlin. It was around 7:30am so we were all pretty tired (again). And yes, a lot of repetition in the whole tiredness thing! We did a bit of packing the night before but finished it of that morning. I was the last person out of our room and out of our group! Oops. We all brought our bags to the baggage storage area and went to breakfast. After breakfast we brushed our teeth and sat in the reception for a while so we could use the hotel WiFi! We got straight on to the tram and headed to Alexandra Platz! From the previous times in which we had been there, I had not thought it was that great but what I did not realise was that it had a massive shopping center! We split of into groups and were given 2 hours to do some last minute shopping and explore! My friends and I went to the shopping centre! We was a shop which was very similar to Lush. All organic, freshly made soaps, bath bombs and body stuff! It was lovely and we bought our teacher some presents in there to say thank you! We continued to look around at the various shops. We went into a souvenir shop and a chocolate shop which had the most amazing truffles and sweets! We looked around at a couple of clothes shops but we were all quite tired! With a bit of time spear we headed out into the main square of Alexandra Platz to soak up the sun and the atmosphere. Realising that I had not yet tried any real traditional food, I went to a wurst (sausage) stand. it was not the best but I did just get it from a random man so what did I expect? Once everyone met back up again we got back on the Tram and headed back to the hostel! We collected our luggage made the most of the WiFi and then headed to the Train Station. We got on the train and chilled out! It was a nice relaxing journey of us taking selfies and looking through all the pictures I had taken (800+ (not all selfies though). When we finally arrived at the airport station it was pouring with rain! Berlin obviously sad to see us go! We ran to the terminal building through the rain and once we go in it was very busy as there were other school groups as well. We all checked in slowly and then went through security where I was stopped and searched (must have been looking very suspicious). Past security was a massive duty free and lots of shops (to our delight). By this point we were all starving so a couple of us went to Burger King where I got a drink and some chips. We were all camping out on the floor (which was surprisingly very comfortable) when we found out that our flight had been delayed but not for to long. We had all put some money in to get our main Teacher a present which she loved! It was a little necklaces and she became quite overwhelmed. Finally, our flight was called and we headed to the gate so we could board. We got on the plane and luckily my friend and I were sitting next to each other. There had been a problem with getting our luggage on the plane so we were forced to sit on it and wait for a good 30min. During that 30min wait, Easyjet fulfilled my childhood dream, I got to go into the cop pit and sit with the pilot and chat to him and ask him questions! Call me pathetic but that made me so happy. A lot of us were all squeezed into the cop pit so it was very cramped but that made it even more funny. Finally, we took our seats and left Berlin. A sad moment but a trip I will always remember.

Berlin Trip 2014- Day 4

Monday- Day 4

Another early start.....well for us anyway. Another morning of a frantic dash for everyone to use the bathroom and have breakfast in time for us meeting outside the front of our hostel. This morning we headed to the East of Berlin to visit the East Side Gallery. The East side gallery is where artwork has been painted on to the Berlin wall to commemorate the wall coming down and to celebrate the overcoming of the Iron Curtain in Europe. It is the longest outdoor gallery in the world with more than 3 million visitors a year. We were able to walk along the wall at our own pace which was great as I loved looking at the work. Lots of it was very symbolic and showed clearly what it was trying to portray where as some were more abstract and harder to work out. I will insert some of my favourite pieces bellow. Half way through the gallery, there is a break in the wall where you can see a beautiful river. There was a cafe there where we stopped for a drink and supposedly to have lunch but it was still quite early so no one really ate much! We sat outside as again it was a wonderful day . Looking out on the river was magical and really made me appreciate everything we had done on the trip! We stuck our legs out in the sun in the hope of getting a slight tan (although we were pretty unsuccessful). Once everyone was done, we got up and continued along the wall looking at more artwork. The wall came to an end and we all regrouped and headed to the train station which was only a 2 min walk away. We went to a museum which was close to where we had been the previous day. It was an odd museum but very interactive and based on (I think) a typical Berliners life. Aspects of it were interesting but I must admit I was getting slightly bored. Luckily we were aloud to leave when ever we liked and aloud to explore the local area. I bought a massive pretzel of a pretzel man in the street as now I was starting to get quite hungry. Our group all met back up together in the green area again outside the Berlin Cathedral where luckily there were no people trying to soak us! After regrouping we took a walk to the traditional East Berlin shop. This shop supposedly sold all stuff traditionally sold in East Berlin. It was not a tourist shop but sold some good things. I bought a couple of presents for my parents and brother in there and some amazing boiled sweets for myself which were amazing! After leaving there we went to the university that my German teacher studied at. It was a beautiful building with a book sale out the front. My teacher was adorable and was getting really excited about being there. Only a couple of us and the teachers had a quick look inside and my German teacher excitedly grabbed the other teachers to get a group photo. It was lovely to see her so happy to be in the place she had grown up! It was very hot now and people were getting tired and quite irritable. Never the less we trekked on next visiting a small memorial to commemorate all the books that were burnt by the Nazi regime. There was a glass panel on the floor with inside a load of empty shelves with enough space to hold all the books that were burnt. Although it is seemingly quite a simple concept, I really liked it and thought it was very effective! Our next stop (yes we were still going) was to Gendarmenmarkt. A big market square which did not have a market (?) but did  have two identical churches parallel to each other. Don't ask me for the story I have no clue, all I know was that the architecture was pretty impressive! And on we trekked further to checkpoint Charlie. The name given by the western allies to the best known wall crossing point between East and West Berlin. We did not stay long but it was just interesting to see. There were two American soldiers there posing for pictures but you had to pay 2 euros for such a prestigious picture (not). Finally we were on the Home Stretch and heading back towards Potsdammer Platz (where we went the second evening). That evening that we went we did not get to explore much of the area but there is actually a big shopping centre there. We were given some shopping time which was great but my friends and I needed to sit down and relax for a while first as we were exhausted! We went to a super market and bought some water and snacks. I bought a bag of carrots which may sound strange but they were a life saver! I just sat in the shopping centre eating carrots while getting some strange looks. We looked around some of the shops and then got an ice cream. Again this ice cream was very cheap but amazing! It tasted so good. We still had a bit of time left over before we had to meet so we sat on a grassy area outside near the tube station. We were still exhausted so it was nice having a break! We all met again and got on the train back to the hostel. When we got to the hostel we had about half an hour to get ready for dinner, which we were having at the hostel. That evening we were going out swimming so we put on our bikinis and then some clothes over the top. As girls we were all worrying about our appearance and whether we looked fat but after some powerful inspiring speeches we decided not to care (which was defiantly for the best)! The dinner was the same in which we had had the first night but it was still good. Then once we were done, we grabbed our bags from upstairs and headed to the train station. The place was not to far away but once we arrived it was a good 10-15min walk. When we arrived we were all shocked at how amazing the pool was! It was an outdoor pool placed slightly above the river. It was stunning as it was nearly dusk and the sun was a bright red! We chucked our stuff down and headed to get straight in. I was very nervous and self conscious but once I eventually got in it was fine. Although the temperature of the pool was pretty cold you just had to keep moving. It was great swimming around and laughing with friends. It was definitely a great way to spend the last evening. We only spent about half an hour in there as any longer time longer than that would probably freeze our toes of. We all got out in dribs and drabs. I headed to the toilets to get changed where now I was freezing. Getting into dry clothes was a lovely feeling. There was a little stand which was selling chicken wraps and quite a lot of people were getting them (as we were all quite hungry now). I waited in line and when I finally got there they told me there was no more chicken left! I could have cried (I nearly did). As I went back to the others with tears in my eyes we began to pack our stuff up and get ready to leave. We left and headed back to the train station and got on a train back to the hostel. AGAIN, it was past 11:00 when we go back so AGAIN straight to our rooms! We were allowed to buy some snacks from the Vending Machine for the journey tomorrow though. In our rooms we had a bit of a jamming session to my music (which everyone else hated) so I just partied on my ones! We stayed up the latest that night! About 4:30 in the morning! We had so much energy after that swim! We spent that time packing our bags and chatting. I really enjoyed that evening. It was upsetting knowing that we would be going home the next day!
